Chicken Biryani (My style) step by step

  1. Marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste, biryani paste,curd,garam masala, salt and chilli powder. Keep it in the refrigerator, leave it overnight..
  2. Boil 6 cups of water. Put dry garam masala, salt and ghee while water is boiling..
  3. Wash and drain rice. Put it in the boiling water. The rice will be cooked in this water..
  4. Once rice is 3/4th cooked. Drain and keep aside. Put oil in a pan and fry the onions and chillies..
  5. Once the onion turns red, keep it aside. And put the marinated chicken by placing each piece side by side in the same pan..
  6. Cook it for 6-8mins. Take half of the cooked chicken along with the marinade and start spreading a layer of cooked rice on the chicken that is left in the pan. Put a layer of fried onions and chillies(use half of them now).
  7. Soak saffron in 2tbsp milk and pour this on the 1st layer of rice..
  8. Spread the remaining rice and onions, pudina on it..
  9. Now, spread a layer of remaining chicken and a layer of onions and pudina on it. Spread it evenly..
  10. Cover the vessel with aluminium foil and put a lid on it so that the rice will be cooked along with marinated chicken. Place this vessel on a dosa tawa and cook for 40 mins on low flame..
  11. Switch off the stove after 40mins and leave it for 10mins. Open the lid after 10mins and slowly mix the biryani from bottom..
  12. Biryani is ready to eat. Serve hot..
